  3. Circulaton for a 180 G Reef ready

o.k. now that you have your tank ordered, here's what i would do i would go with 3 mh's 250s or 400s ..up to you..since you have 3 2' cut outs(again, this is why i recommended AGA over Oceanic which is what i have) for circulation, i would still opt for 2 sea-swirls mounted in the...

  5. HELP ME: large tank for sale in Florida!!!

i do not think it is too tall..it is similar to a 120(4'x2'x2') in appearance just 1.5x in all dimensions you could do a nice 8" sand bed and have 27" to reach in..it will be difficult, but i think well worth it if the price is right i would want a large sump/refugium though with a lot of...
  6. Circulaton for a 180 G Reef ready

e, i have an oceaninc reef ready, but would prefer an AGA because of the center brace..plastic unimold and very small..the oceanic large center brace is probably overkill and decreases light into the tank and also makes positioning rocks/corals/powerheads(if you want them) a tad more difficult...

  8. Circulaton for a 180 G Reef ready

o.k... first of all, decide if you want internal or external pump if internal, i still like rios..5-6 yrs on a couple of mine so far with no problems, but you could also do 2 of the mag 950s or the dolphin submersibles if external i would go with either the iwaki md 70 or 100rlt i would also get...
  9. 75G Tank and SEA SWIRLS

i would go with 2 3/4" seaswirls and one more mag 750 and you should be golden i realize that's around $400, but probably well worth it worm
  10. Circulaton for a 180 G Reef ready

I would go with 2 pumps rated at 1000-1200 gph..this may sound like overkill, but trust me it will be fine dolphin, iwaki, little giant, etc i would start looking at marine depot or other online stores fwiw, worm
  11. Circulaton for a 180 G Reef ready

if you're going to go with powerheads still, then i would use 2 mag 9.5s on sea-swirls with 2-4 more powerheads..i like the marineland 1140s at 300 gph b/c they are jet black and if you have a black tank back, they are nearly invisible..if your back is clear, you can use gloss black spray paint...
  12. what is GSP

    green star polyps i believe
  13. Main Pump Suggestions?

i would recommend a quiet one and 3/4" sea swirl just b/c all of this will perfectly fit the 3/4" return and provide decent flow i would then add one powerhead to the opposite corner i like the marineland 1140s(300gph) b/c they are jet black and if you have a black background, they are...
  14. please help w/recs for 4000gal+ tank

i currently have a 180..i understand the work involved, which, with my system, is minimal..i realize that it would be extremely difficult removing a fish..hopefully that won't be much of an issue..if they fight, hopefully they will have room to make peace i would have a continuous top-off and i...
  15. please help w/recs for 4000gal+ tank

thanks, bigtank i realize the price will be hefty, but we do o.k., and i don't plan on buying an expensive 3rd not so necessary car, i don't spend money on much else..no other expensive hobbies and my house won't be huge but the fish tank/fish room will be nice sized i've thought about the...
