You can confirm with another brand. I regularly use Hanna Alk checker and occasionally use salifert just to make sure. They give similar numbers

As grsfish said, it?s fine if you do small water changes and aren?t dosing or dosing less. You can also lower alkalinity in your freshly mixed batch by using hydrochloric acid but make sure to aerate saltwater well before using to bring up ph Since it would be too low to use as is.

You can try another foxface or Red Sea sailfin tang. You can also try vibrant. It worked for me about after six or seven doses and I didn?t lose any corals but I?d tell you to monitor your parameters closely if you go with vibrant

I think some use insulation foam board and those are very inexpensive. Advanced Marine Aquatic display tank is acrylic and is about the same size as yours so you can ask them what they put underneath tank. But the best thing to do is ask the manufacturer what they recommend
