  1. Harlequin Shrimp....

Concerning the CC starfish, yes some people will use these to feed them, however, it is not the right type. Someting about the skin on these being too tough, or just simply the wrong type. I honestly don't remember what the reasoning was, but it was specified that they are not good for the...
  2. Harlequin Shrimp....

I have never owned any Harlequin shrimp, however I do find them very pretty. Now having said that I'd just like to add my comments. As much as some of you think it is cruel to feed them the starfish, it IS the natural thing for them, like it or not. Whether it happens in your tank or in the...
  3. Looking for Pics of in-wall reef set-ups

Russ, That is a very classy looking display!!! Very, very nice!! Are you going to be adding more corals? It looks very active as far as fish, although I'd like to see some closer up pics of the inhabitants. Do you have any? Keep up the excellant work!!
  4. Control Yellow Polyps

The Copperband would be a good idea if it does actually eat them. My CB does not touch a single coral in my tank and I have many polyps. 4 types of buttons, Xenia, Kenya tree, many SPS's, and LPS's, Finger leather, etc... It is a very reef-safe fish. On the otherhand, it devoured every single...
  5. Looking for Pics of in-wall reef set-ups

The only thing I'm going to question at the moment is those 6 x 1" holes. Why are they only 4" up from the bottom? Are you not planning to use a DSB, if so, they will get covered????? You might want to look into this and discuss this a bit further before they drill any hole sin the glass.

  7. Looking for Pics of in-wall reef set-ups

Stonehaven, That is a very "pretty" looking display. I realy like the lighting coloring and how it gives that particular overall look to the tank. Mind if I ask what the light setup is, or is it just the way the pic turned out?
  8. Looking for Pics of in-wall reef set-ups

Here's a couple of pics of my setup. It's a 125 g. viewable from the kitchen enclosed in a cabinet, and the livingroom side flush with the wall surrounded by a frame
  9. feather dusters being wiped out.....

T byrd, when a worm blows it's top, it is most often serious. It will often do this if there is not enough food for it to eat. What it will do is try to regrow another one, albeit smaller, therefore needing less food to sustain it. While it is rejuvenating it's crown, it will usually live on...
  10. Reefsafe Starfish?

Yes, Fromias are also reefsafe, and the added advantage is that they stay much smaller than the Linkias. I had 2 different ones in my tank, both maxed out at about 3" across, and they did very well, till unfortunately a summer heatwave wiped them out. Yes, most stars are very sensitive to change...
