    thanks Wombat! well it looks like a air leak:( also i had the jug about 4 feet above the tank so like 6 feet of tube.... im going to start over with a different jug and try to get a stopper instead of glueing the tubes to the jug

    OK- i'm in the finally process of setting it up one last question and i think i got it made. can u have the tube the drips the water to the tank mounted on the bottom of the jug and have the air line mounted on top of the jug????? or will this not create a vacuum??? stupid question I know...

    do hardware stores sell float valves? or does anyone know where to get one around town? I need one ASAP I dont have time to order one becuase I will be leaving for 5 weeks... :(

    yea I know that the the jug has to be hight than the tank, i'm just going to try hanging it from the ceiling:) heres my next question...could I do basically the same setup but put a inline float switch on the dripping tube and would that keep it from flooding? thanks!

    Ok I a have 15gal tank without a sump. I was going to use a 5gal water jug, now is there any certain size air tubing I need like 1/2" 1/4" ect? and do I need a gravel vacuum attachment for the end? is there anything else I need? thanks alot! JEFF :D
