Thanks Mega. I was thinking of buying a T4 to run my chiller. Glad I saw this post. How do you like your Blueline (if you got it yet)? How quiet is it?
In my experience, coraline seems to grow better in lower light conditions, especially the darker purples. Haven't seen many threads to the contrary.
The Rubios in Fresno doesn't have one flake of coraline.
I would make all four of your VHO bulbs super actinics. I run four super actinics and two 250 watt Iwasakis on MV ballasts on my 120. You can still see a hint of yellow.
It will be interesting to see how the Ocean Runner pumps pan out. I have had many Mag pumps and hate them, especially the Mag7. All of mine have failed to restart after power failures despite regular cleaning. The Ocean Runner looks like a good alternative.
Depends on what you are going to keep. Have you purchased the tank? If not, consider getting a reef-ready. You won't have to worry about a siphon box losing it's siphon. I have a LifeReef siphon box on my 55 and haven't had any problems though. You can also throw the heater in a corner box...
I've used Aquamend from Home Depot. Used to cost about $3 for a 6oz tube. Now it is the same price for half that amount. They must have caught on like SD sand.
I emailed them about a year or so ago. They sent me some terrible abstract from a laboratory in China. I tried to find my old post here or at RC but no luck. They were trying to show increased health or blood flow in hatchery fish if I can remember it correctly
They can be run either way. Pure garbage IMO. I have four of them and will never buy another. The ampmaster isn't cheap, but sounds like a good reliable pump. That is what I will use when I set up again.
Has anyone tried the Olympus 4040? I've been thinking about this camera because I have an Olympus phototube on my microscope, and it would be the cheapest way to go. Could alway change out the tube if the Coolpix is far superior.
