  1. Nudi ID

The species in that link look just like them, but then again they're all so small and all kind of look the same... I would guess there to be over 500 already in the system, so manual removal isn't an option. They just started popping out of nowhere. There are also what appear to be eggs on the...
  2. Nudi ID

Thanks David, I'm pretty confident that they're of the same family. Do you have any ideas of where I can find more examples of Vayssierea? Only two are shown on the sea slug forum. My only concern is if they will start feeding on featherdusters once they run out of the Spirorbidaes. And, if...
  3. Nudi ID

Gee, B, thanks for the informative response... I did some research and found it to be this: http://www.seaslugforum.net/display.cfm?id=2299 I saw them eating my Spirorbidae's which was a dead giveaway. Anyone seen these in their aquariums before? Can anyone comment? David? Steve
  4. Nudi ID

I know this is a bad pic but out of the 12 I took it's the best one. I've just recently started finding these guys grazing on the glass in my fuge after I noticed the first one in the display. I inspected a few of my corals, both SPS and softies and I don't see them on any of them. It's hard to...
  5. Live rock with surprises!

Looks like zoa eating nudis.. A warm fresh water dip will make them fall off, but you have to carfully inspect the zoa's to make sure there are no egg sacks on them or you'll have to start all over again. Steve
  6. How to control this macro algae?

It's been in my tank for quite some time, approximately 3-4 months. I remove it manually, but any small piece that floats around ends up attaching itself to anything and everything. It's quickly becoming an epidemic. The tank is a 20 gallon nano. I researched herbivorous fish and decided on a...
  7. How to control this macro algae?

I'm pretty sure I identified the macro I'm having problems with as Dictyota menstraulis. Anyone else have problems with this? How did you control it? It's spreading like crazy. Steve
  8. My last water change was August 29th.

Not knowing the water parameters was really bothering me ;) I was just thinking the other day what would happen if I were to not do water changes for a while. The thread perked my curiosity a bit... Steve
  9. My last water change was August 29th.

For the love of God, check the water parameters already and post the results!! It will take you 10 minutes, instead of 20 minutes talking about "what if XX and XX parameter is high?" I'm dying to know what the results are! Steve
  10. Hammer Coral question

16bitmick, Try to find a reefers club in your area while you're waiting for your tank to cycle/ mature. When you're ready to start adding corals, ask the members in the club what frags they have to offer. IMO, you'll save a ton of money and get much healthier corals, and you'll probably find...
  11. My first Nano, 20 gallon high

Mihai, It consists of a float switch with homemade bracket and snail guard, air pump and 3 gallon glass carboy. You can see the snail guard/ bracket in the last picture I posted. It's just a drilled piece of PVC and some DIY acrylic work (I can post pictures of the adjustable bracket if you...
  12. My first Nano, 20 gallon high

Some more... The Coraline was non-existant before I removed the skimmer. This growth is only after one month. We're buying a house this summer and I think I've already convinced my finace to let me put up a 180 gallon tank with a basement sump/ fuge.... "Come on, what's another couple thousand...
  13. My first Nano, 20 gallon high

Ok, for some reason these pictures didn't turn out nearly as nice as the first ones. I think it's becuase I changed the background from blue to black..... I think the blue background is more photogenic, although I much prefer the black background in person.
  14. My first Nano, 20 gallon high

Seems my thread came back to life! Since the pictures, I've re-aquascaped. I had too much rock and not enough room for corals. I still have an arch but it looks much different. I'll post a picture when I get home (on the road now). So far I have 2 false percs, watchman goby, peppermint shrimp...
  15. Just some observations on Bak-Pak VS Remora

I wanted to share my experience with both of these products. Hopefully, it will help some newbs... Had the BakPak for a few months. What I noticed... This thing is obnoxiously loud! Takes up a lot of room. Skims OK though... Remora. MUCH quieter! Skims just as well, probably better. PLUS, the...
