Hi, I've been fooling with my programs for 3 months and I can't understand why, if at 100% all channels PAR is good, but not mind blowing.....Why are so many using it at 40-70% ? That said, about half my sps and all my corraline start to bleach above 70% intensity. Whats yours at?
  6. I want to dose 2-part equally, but my Ca is too high

The thing is, according to the 2-part dosing system of Randy Holmes-Farley (I respect this person and his insights into reef chemistry very much) I should dose the Ca and Alk of his 2-part recipe equally and when the gallon jugs are empty add the Mg part. With my current situation I will have...

According to R.Holmes-Farley 2-part should be dosed equally. But in my case the Ca is just too high. So I've been...

  10. My 60 gallon sps cube project

ya I know about the rubber issues, I found a thread on a forum that someone had researched about rubber and plastic in our systems, it would seem that HDPE is pretty much as safe as acrylic, and most other types of plastic are fine unless heated. I tried to post pics but it seems like I can't...
  11. My 60 gallon sps cube project

Good morning, I will post details of my new project because when I have seen other threads of this sort, it has been useful for innovative ideas. I have been reefing for about 20 years and for this tank I am using all my experiences to help me design a stable tank that does'nt make the living...
  12. best top-off device

Hello, I had the tunze osmolator and it was ok, except the little pump was too loud for a quiet room and when calcium built up on the sensor it would malfunction. Is there a quieter and more reliable top-off than the osmolator? thanks

Hi, about 6 years back I had PFO magnetic ballasts, now I am buying a whole new set up and the only ballasts for MH available in my area are coralvue 250watt electronic or sunlight supply galaxy 250watt.
