If your tank is small a 6-line wrasse will also make short order with them, but unless they are extremely big or are so numerous that they threaten other livestock, I would not worry about them too much. they are detrivores so they would be mostly beneficial..JMO.
Thank you for the responses. I am going to use caution and wait and see if anything else shows signs..I KNOW prevention is best but I agree with snowman and since I am not 100% sure of anything I dont want to add insult to possible injury dipping anything else. If I do have to I will only dip...
Although I would not rule out the bleach.. unless your other fish show any signs then its probably not the bleach.. I had a clown do that 2 days after buying it and it had velvet.. After it died I was able to look closely at the gills and they were covered in slime and whitish "stuff" no other...
I dont think so.. but I cant be 100% sure. The ones in your post seem very very big compared to what was ( I think I gotem  ) in my tank. I know for a fact that they become the color of the coral they are eating because they were orange and black when they ate my orange ric and purplish...
Thanks for the reply. If they are pods wouldn't my mandarin eat them? He seems to ignore them completely. My water param are PH 8.4 Amm 0 Nit 0 No3 now 5ppm it was at about 10 but I just trimmed some caluerpa SG 1.025. I'm not sure I understand how having pods is a water quality issue. I KNOW...
HELP!!! 8O :!:  :!:
Ive lost 2 shrooms so far. My orange ricordia and a green/blue striped both single polyps, now my green ricordia is shrinking too. Ive FW dipped them but they dont look very good. From what I can tell there are tiny tiny little bugs under them (i found them when I...
ok yes they are marine spiders. I managed to get 3 off (all I could see) I left them in a styrofoam cup for a week(forgot about them) and when I looked again they were still alive. Tuff lil buggers. Dont think any got into my tank and even if they did my goby will probably eat them.He eats...
Help! I just bought some coral (ricordia mushrooms) and in the bag they came in are somethings that look like spiders. Are they safe? Does anyone know? I have not released the corals yet in case there are more on them that I cant see.
I cant wait for that to happen. Its currently doing well. However one of my emerald crabs has an affinity for picking at my corals and I have seen him snip off some of the xenia "flowers". I dont think hes eating them just pickin. If I could catch him without taking my whole tank apart he would...
I can tell you from experience when we lived in south florida that yes you can do that and be fine. Others will tell you that you may introduce "things" that you will regret later on. I guess we were just lucky because we never got anything that harmed our tank, if anything we got lucky and...
I got my live rock from toofishy.com they were one of the few that will mix and match and have a 5-lb min as opposed to some others that require 20lb min. I like the fact that you can mix and match types. they also sell rubble rock which i use for my fuge and you could add to your sump if you...
Thanks again to all those who responded. here's an update on the frag. see pic below..
I waited 3 days and tried to remove the mesh..the frag stuck to it rather than the rock it was tied to..oh well. So I turned the mesh over and tried to epoxy that to the rock.. no luck.. it seems mesh and...
no I havent tried that site yet, but I will check it out, thanks. If worse comes to worst, there is a very good store that I can go to but like I said its over an hour drive and the prices are a bit high, but you can see the difference in livestock right away. Sometimes you really do get what...
It will be a good deal if the frag makes it yes. but i'm not so sure it was worth all the worry ive been thru, if he had sold me one that was already established on a rock like the ones he has in the priced section there would be no question as I am sure none of this would have happened. Even...
