Quick question - I need to build a float valve before we go on vacation. I would like who ever watches my tanks (plus the cats and bonsai) to have as little work as possible.
What I would like to is have an electric switching float pump to turn on my aqualifter to pump from two five gallon...
I always use 4x4s (usually 2x4s sandwiched together with opposing grain) on my tank stands. My last stand had six 4x4s (as described above) for a forty gallon long..........overkill? Probably.......but certainly peice of mind.

I rewired mine about two days after receiving it.
I simply used a multimeter (on the continuity setting) to find which switches went to what wires on the opposite end, and wired them to individual plugs.
Took about thirty minutes total.

An overflow is going to flow as much water as you give it within limitations.......its not going to flow 600 gph all the time, thats just the max flow.

Well I ended up getting a new PC hood, so I scraped those LEDS, and wired them into the PC hood.....the hood came prewired, I just had to move the LEDS and add some resistors.
Three over a 40 gal long tank lights up the tanks pretty well.
