  1. Aquarium Research - I need your samples and $$

Hi Folks, I need some volunteers who are willing to spend $150. As many of you know I have been working for a number of years at determining the "materials" flow through an aquarium. This started 2 years ago with my Food and Additives Study to determine what was in what we added to our...

Hi, Trial's over. We found 'im guilty. Quick justice out here in the west.... I will be online tonight for the discussion session.
  5. The Wednesday, 23 January 2002 Discussion.

Hi Folks, I just called the district court office and I do have to be in the county seat for jury duty tomorrow. It is unlikely that I will be able to get home from there in time to get on line for the discussion, however, if I can do it, I will be on line. If I am not online by 5 minutes...

  7. The Wednesday, 23 January 2002 Discussion.

Hi Folks, I have been summoned to serve on jury duty next Wednesday. It is possible that the trial may be cancelled, but if it is held, it is my civic responsibility to be there. If such occurs, I will not be able to get home in time for the discussion and you can either hold it without me...
  8. Week 8 Lecture and Quiz Posted

Hi, Try using the Word Pad in the Accessories section of Win98. Click Programs, Accessories, Word Pad to Open Word Pad. Then Open the file, and print it. If it doesn't go, wait until James is back in a couple of days and badger him to post it in pdf.
  9. Week 8 Lecture and Quiz Posted

Hi, In point of order... The lecture in question is lecture 9. And it is officially "posted" for next week (in other words, there will not be a discussion this Sunday... )
  10. On Vacation Jan 2nd - Jan 9th

Hi Folks, Just to clarify, James couldn't get the lecture uploaded because I didn't get it to him on time. Too many other pressing needs caught up with me. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience, but the lecture will be up in rtf format ontime, and be converted into pdf format when James returns.
  11. Urban Legend

Hi Andrew, Gad! LOL! I presume that if the silicone is poorly applied some worms might be able to burrow into it, but otherwise it ain't gonna happen!
  12. Is ERMS Reliable?

Hi Andrew, It is one place to start, anyway. For polychaetes follow the links given here: http://www.keil.ukans.edu/~worms/annelid.html
  13. microscopes--any recommendations?

Sonia, It is far too inexpensive to be anything but a headache machine. Such cheap 'scopes have optics that are not corrected for color or spherical aberrations. What this means is that any object that is viewed with them generally cannot be bought to clear focus. While they can magnify okay...
  14. Live Sand Examination

Hi Andrew, It sounds like your sand examination was done correctly. You might want to save the crustacean in some rubbing alcohol until we get to them, and then return to it for closer examination. The pictures didn't come through at my end. You might want to email them to me...
  15. The incredible visible worm....

Hi Sandy, These transparent animals are really a hoot, aren't they. Let me know how the 'scopes work and if you have any questions on them, don't hesitate to ask!
