  2. Aquariums and LFS in Ocala-Dunnellon,FL

I just bought a house in Dunnellon,FL, and I am looking for recommendations for aquarium builders and good local fish stores.
  3. Flaky Ebo Jager heater?

One of my Ebo's only runs on or off-nowhere in between. This happened after a year or so-it is one of the new models. My other observation is that the temperature fluctuates more on the new ones.
  4. What is this guy doing fishing on my reef? pics

That is a Vermetid snail. It's a good guy. Here is some info and links. Your pics are excellent! http://www.globaldialog.com/~jrice/inve ... rmetid.htm

    Great pics-thanks for sharing,UnderGrad!
  6. Clingfish

I have a Carribean cling fish.He is gray with a thin white edge on his dorsal. I fell for him immediately because he reminded me so much of a freshwater Plecostomous. This guy swims right into my hand everytime I put it in the tank. He eats out of my hand and off a spoon. I don't think they get...
  7. Do ricordea autorelocate?

Ben- Some of my Ricordea move around quite a bit and others are content to stay put. I also have one green mushroom that is very mobile.
  8. odd ball

I have a pair of ocellaris that do this. They seem to be building a home and then cordon it off with the little corals. They really don't make a mess and seem to be quite happy in the process.
  9. Why do I need an Overflow?

Good stuff guys! I was thinking I would have to keep my return line(s) at water level. I've read about anti-syphon holes, but I kept thinking they were on the input side and couldn't figure out what the purpose was.
  10. Why do I need an Overflow?

My tank is only 15G(24X12X12) and has a DSB. I havn't been able to find a manufactured box that is small enough for my tank.I thought the Amiracle would be small enough, but the inside box measures 6"X2"X6".Besides being obtrusive,I don't have that much room to spare.I found a place called...
  11. Why do I need an Overflow?

That's what I call sharing your "experience". Really useful. Thanx.
  12. Why do I need an Overflow?

Thanks, again. I can see how the bubbles would impede the use of the overflow.I just found a DIY overflow box on the Library page that looks like it fits the bill.Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Here is the link http://www.reefs.org/library/diy/diy_winner1.html
  13. Why do I need an Overflow?

Thanks for the info,Steve.I'd much rather gather information before than after.I've read a lot about bubbles and baffles. The bucket idea sounds pretty simple. I'll do some searches. By the way,why is it that we don't want bubbles in a reef tank? Is it just asthetics, or is there a mechanical...
  14. Why do I need an Overflow?

OK,vitz.Just one more question for now.I'll probably use flexible tubing from my overflow box to the sump. Is it necessary to keep the tubing above the sump level? I read somewhere about it causing back pressure if it is below the sump waterline. Also, should I use a smaller diameter U-tbue on...
  15. Why do I need an Overflow?

vitz-Thank you so much. I think I'm really beginning to understand how it works!
