salt level
Check your ammonia level. FWIW, I keep my salinity at 1.025. It goes up to 1.026 with evaporation.

Nanocube with tubeworm outbreak!
Sounds like fanworms. Go to www.wetwebmedia.com and search for feather dusters or fan worms. There are always lots of helpful photos there. If that is what they are, they are beneficial filter feeders. Signs you have a mature, healthy tank.
