AmpMaster 3000 is rated 24 hour dry run. Even if he had no water in it running it for a few minutes is nothing to worry about. Can you disconnect the pump from the plumbing and plug it in? You should see the impeller spinning.
My neighbor just ordered a G4-X with Sendra 9000 pump for his 240g. Looking forward to seeing it in action. If it does well, I think I'll get an ASM as well. People tell me the larger ASM's will do a better job than my 40 inch dual beckett. I'd love to get rid of the Iwaki MD70RLT powering...
That's a sweet skimmer! Talk about bells and whistles. Has the ports for eveything (ozone, ca reactor, air flow meter). That thumbscrew-less twist lock looks very nice. I HATE the zillion thumbscrews I have.
BTW - that tube with lint trap I talked about is slightly wrong. It is not a lint trap its a bird/critter guard on it to stop them from nesting in the tube.
Yes it is possible to use two. I personally don't recommend it as getting both of them tuned right can be pretty hard. But I know of many people doing it. Remember that the teeth spacing in the overflow grate tends to be the limiting factor in the water you can process. You may have to...
I have that exact fan in my reef room for venting the back room. I think that is overkill for what you want to do. (You didn't want to vent the entire room right?)
Secondly that fan will not vent to a 4 inch opening common to a dryer vent (I tried). You will need a 6 inch hole or two 4 inch...
Did you happen to question the LFS on why they called it "Pink"?
If that does look pink to you, then I have some great blue acro you'd love... ignore the folks who claim its brown.
At least the "Chubby Pink" one you got looks very healthy. Remember to feed it regularly. I tend to...
Touching it would be the fastest way to figuring out if its fire coral. The soft under side of your wrist is an ideal spot if you want to run around and scream like a little school girl.
I have to complement that picture, that is an excellent picture! Which camera are you using?
I have the same reactor. You do need to feed it with a pump. I use a mini-jet 404 (little brother to the maxijet line) and then use a mini ball value on the output to control flow rate. The pump has an adjustment on it to reduce flow down if needed.
You have to be careful not to over...
