It just doesn't get a lot of gunk, they're a little tricky to adjust and from what I've been reading, the trend now is toward shorter skimmers with a bigger radius instead of tall and skinny like the Berlin.

Currenlty using a Berlin Turbo XL, not real happy with it.

Not to beat this into the ground, but the smell is coming from the inside of the pieces of PVC that I glued. I just didn't want the tank water passing throught the PVC if it still smelled of chemicals. Thanks for the replies reeferJ

I am in the process of re-plumbing my return and drain lines. I glued some PVC using the purple primer and PVC cement. After 4 days, I can still smell the chemicals on the new pipes. How long should I wait until I install the new PVC. Thanks, reeferJ
