  1. Coral Clean Out

    Thanks, tank looks great!
  2. Algae outbreak

So, algae needs light and nutrients to grow. Kill the lights for a few days and either dont feed the tank at all, or at a bare minimum.
  3. Stocking my 75 gallon reef aquarium

Luke is giving good advice. I've had good success with a pair of clowns and a tang. If you add at the same time they should be fine together. You might be able to keep two tangs, but they like to graze the live rock and your tank size is small for more than one. Its more likely they will fight...

There are dive boats operating all the way down: from Islamorada and Key Largo to Key West. Conditions can be iffy. If the...
  10. How long before dry rock becomes usable live rock

You're asking how long does it take for the bacteria to build up in the rock to support the bio load you want to carry. And the answer is that it depends. It depends on what you put in to seed the bacteria, either bottled culture or something more traditional like a decaying shrimp, and how...
  11. Max reef,.... The progress continues

I was a big fan of the Yonkers store, always enjoyed talking to Ivan. I appreciated the effort you all made to make the Bronx store work, but it was a better location to get new tires than new fish! Bridgeport is on the outer limits of my shopping range, but I'll try to get up there once in a...
  12. The nuances of reefing...

Other "hobbies" have a monthly meeting, dinner followed by a featured presentation.
  13. Midas blenny

My midas blennie is very active and social, rarely out of sight. Not as bright as a yellow tang, but definitely yellow. I paid less than $30 on sale at Greenwich Aquaria.
