  2. hermits, snails in aquafuge?

    I tryed the other site but didnt get a response. I just finished setting up a 18" aquafuge last week and noticed some flake food just sitting in the bottom of it for last couple days. This cant be good so would it be ok to add a small hermit & or snil or two?

    I have a toadstool leather & a yellow finger leather that close up every time for several days I feed meaty type foods. Current is good on them & lighting is 220 watts of pcs in a 55 gal.     While reading this months advanced aquarist article on the Pratt reef, I couldnt help but notice that this 210 gal. system runs with only 130 lbs. of live rock. I realize that it has a 4'' sand bed but come on. Are we being duped when it comes to 1.5 -2 lbs per gal ratio. I currently run 35-40...
  5. Bak Pac 2 bubble troubles questions??

    I am going to pull the bio bale from my Bak Pak 2 skimmer & wondering if anyone has done this without using the bubble trap. Also can you really put your heater in the return chamber & would this help eliviate the bubbles.

    Ok, everyone thanks for the welcome & great replies, but so now do I pull the bio wheel & bale all at once or slowly, & should I keep the 280 without wheel for xtra filtration or slap it on a Qt tank. Also is a dsb really that good cuz I dont much like the looks of those either.
