As long as the drain is surrounded by an overflow, you are golden. I have reservations about drilling holes in the tank bottom for things such as closed loops. If THESE bulkheads fail, you are SOL. At least if your overflow bulkheads fail, you have the overflow to hold back your tank volume...
Additional question....
It is going to be hard to find parts that will allow me to use flexible hoses with 1.5 inch drains. Would it be a better idea to go with 4 1" drains (two in each overflow)? What would the flow be on 4 1" compared to 2 1.5" pipes?
Hey thanks Shane! That's neat. I'm proficient at Corel so I just whipped it up with that. I Love the 3d. Is there any text features with the Google software?
A big Trigger Sys skimmer is going in the middle. I want to put it in the sump. The thought of 1500 GPH spewing out of a tweeked skimmer has driven me from leaving it external. The middle portion is where the skimmer will reside.
3x400 10ks and 2x110 VHO
All of the pumps are going to be external...

Does anyone have an experience with these chillers? The ambient temp in the apartment is about 75 all day. Wwould this be enough to keep the tank at about 80 degrees?
