  1. the temporary relief of joe's juice

Same experience here. I'm not too sure it's not from the tissue that sloughs off and sticks somewhere to create a new aptasia. Mojanos are tough too. They will disappear for at least a month then the little bastages will pop out again. Oh well, better to have them trying to regrow than...
  2. Kole Tang's "Knifes" are out.

That's Chops. He was raised locally from a fellow DFWMAS member here in Dallas. Andy (over on the DFWMAS boards), who raises them, has had different batches. It's odd, he said some batches will have the broken bars and then others won't. The batch that Chops came from was about half and half...
  3. Kole Tang's "Knifes" are out.

Thanks Nathan! BTW, I'm going to be out your way on 10/8 to watch the Red Raiders duke it out with Nebraska. I haven't been back since I graduated in 99 and I hear the campus has exploded with new buildings and even TREES! :P
  4. Kole Tang's "Knifes" are out.

Thanks for all the advice and trivia. I'll keep a close eye on him. Hopefully they will retract, those things look nasty. I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end!
  5. Kole Tang's "Knifes" are out.

I noticed yesterday that my Kole Tang had one of his "knife" (sorry, don't know the correct term for the defensive scale on Surgeonfish) scales out for sometime. The Tang never acted aggresive towards any of it's tank mates and none of the other fish have wounds. Then this morning I noticed that...
  6. If you were to set up my reef to house sps what would you do

Sounds good to me. You might want to add some more circulation once you start placing frags and colonies to make sure everyone gets some good flow. Your setup sounds very similiar to mine. But, I'm running a 90g with a Blueline, a GenX and 3 Maxijet 1200s in the tank. But, mine is dedicated SPS...
  7. I thought this came out cool...

    Naboo?
  8. any tangs in 90 gals?

I have a Kole in my 90g. He is fat, fat, fat and eats everything algae related. I can't comment on Halimeda though, never had it. PS. I love my Kole! He has really colored up since I've gotten him and his "pin stripes" have taken on a baby blue tone and stand out big time!
  9. desperately need help w/ an ID....

Do these things swim? Do they move around or do you just see them in a one spot? Can you take one out and get a pic on a solid backgroud. Try either a blank sheet of white or black paper. Odd. :?
  10. Best paint for background?

Painted mine with acrylic wall paint. I got glossy because it was the cheapest and that's what is recommend for walls that get alot of traffic and cleaning (though that doesn't really matter I guess). I went to the paint swatches and picked out a color I liked and had them mix it up. Applied it...
  11. Phosphate Question

I second the Rowaphos suggestion. I'm using it currently and like it.
  12. Could someone who knows MH lights please help me?

What you described is exactly what you need to know to pick up a new one. Shop around on the vendors page here on RDO. You might also check Champion Lighting.

    Thanks Habib!
  15. Anyone Use Phosphate Eliminator??

No offense guys, but I was asking about a specific product called Phosphate Eliminator by Salifort. Check the links out above. It's an alternative to the absorption type media.
