Quite a few people are trying this now. So far I have only heard one bad experience where it was put in pretty thick and the heat from the reaction cracked the bottom of a fairly large tank (around 260 gal. I think). I would stick with thin layers and make sure its fully cured and cooled down...

The only bad thing I can think of is any detritus on your sand will show up like dust on a black car does. If it wasnt for that I would love to use black.

They are Foraminiferans. Totally harmless filterfeeders.

I just picked up a Long Nose Butterfly a couple hours ago. When I got home I noticed two of its dorsal spines are broken up near the tip. Im not sure if this happened before or after I got him. I didnt notice it at the LFS. Is this anything I need to be concerned with?

I just recieved an Icecap 660 VHO retro kit today. The invoice says the lights are URI, however the light itself says UV Lighting Company. Are they the same company or did I get cheap lights sent in the set?
