I have the same question. How'd you catch him?
I currently have two tiny less than 1 inch in size emerald crabs i need to catch and dump onto my forest of bubble algae. .
I've noticed this very very thin white tentacle that would come out of a hole from a rock and like a tongue would lick the sides (or in this whip the sides) of the rock in an attempt to i guess collect food. Any ideas? it moves really quickly...definitely not a bristle worm.
ordered from reefermadness w/ regards to the cleaner crew but not LR. I was pleased w/ the transaction. Was able to save on shipping cost by going directly to the warehouse to pick it up. If you happen to live in the LA area then you'll save a GRIP on LR shipping costs at places like...
are you sure the leathers are hardy? they're the first things to go in my tank =T following that are the mushrooms i have. Surprisingly though...the xenia frags i got are doing well so far after a week! :D and i thought they would be gone in a matter of days.
I'm only sad I had to throw...
i'm getting torn between using Kalk + Buffer vs. just B-ionic.
Can anybody help me put to rest which solution I should go w/ as well as any brand/sites recommended to purchase from?
well from what I read from the bulb it said 250W MH. *shrugs* But from what I hear about 250 MH and how hot and bright they are it just puts doubt in my head. That's why i was hoping someone could look at my lights and corroborate w/ their 250 W setup.
wow really? because i doubt mine is any higher than 20k. should be 10k or 14k at most. If that's the case...from th ones you've seen...did they all start out as blue/violet as mine?
finding that out now =T calling the fish store later.
i read about the 100 hour burn in time but i'm thinking even if it turns out less "blue or violet" it doesn't seem as bright as those halides I see elsewhere where it looks like bright sunlight. that's what's concerning me and was hoping...
I purchased 2x250W Hamilton MH bulbs along w/ 2x96 blue lights (forget the name). I've seen other tanks w/ MH bulbs and it seems BRIGHT like sunlight. Mine seems like ultraviolet lighting. Is this right? Please let me know if this is the right kidn of look for the above description lighting...
oh definitely. i've learned bits and pieces all the time as time progresses and i find out new things.
thanks for ur input!
seems like i don't need to do much to try to "culture" my new DR but just put them close together.
Hello,
Currently I have a 60 gal tank w/ no fishes and one hitchhiker snail.
I have 10 lbs of semi dead rock (left it in a box for too long but it looks like life is starting to grow back)
10 lbs of Premium Fiji Rock
30 lbs of Marshal Island Rock.
Any suggestions on the type of Dead Rock...
i hear about smaller tanks 30-40 gallon. for a 60 gallon tank what's recommended? still going w/ the b-ionic route or w/ the kalk route? and if kalk route do you need to buy additional alkaline supplements?
It has a redish-brown color. One of the semi-dead rocks has a grayish color. If i'm not imaginging things, i see some green algae and some red coloring on the semi-dead so i'm hoping life will respawn. :D Does it smell bad? eeks...not too sure. could've...forgot to check and it's...
