I'm getting a buzzing sound every second or so from my auto shutoff valve on my RO unit. I've got two of them so I tried the other one and after a day or two, same problem.
I know it's hooked up right, but the one question I have on that is the backpressure thingy (for lack of a better word)...
Great setup. I"m contemplating basically the exact same system (GlassCages 300 tall with Penductors) Aside from the barebottom - I'm a sand user.
If you had to do it all over again, is there anything you would change?
Now if you had kept it in a rubbermaid tub with water circulation I'd say ok - but having it sit and then killing all the life with fresh water - I'd say just grab some new sand.
I say keep the sand. Throw it in a bucket of the water from the tank and pour out the water. A lot of the detritus should stay in the water - and be poured out with it.
Worked for me.
with baking soda so cheap - I find it's easier to just use Oceanic and add a couple tablespoons of baking soda to the tank after I've made the change...
doesn't that link have a wall mirror?
I'm confused. I thought he said the whole tank was reflected in the full length mirror. ie: the full length of the wall.
if anything is worth doing it's worth doing right. Best bet with this hobby is to do it the way you want it the first time around. Will the swich cause problems? Can't say for sure. But not having to do a switch will definitely not cause problems.. :)
I feel like I wouldn't mind if the price went up if the money was going into the right hands....IE: the actual diver that lives in the little foul smelling shack with 11 kids that he can barely afford to feed. But we all know that would never happen. It would just go into the slavedriver boss...
