I had a similar scum problem on my 12g. Found out the water level was too high and the surface skimmer was below H2O level. Dropped it a bit and voila!

Are you referring to the old one, or the new DX? Don't see how much better than 48watts of PC it can get unless the CPR has a mini MH or something. I'm very happy with my new Nano DX.

Sailfin is a pretty mellow fish. Gets along great with my yellow. Never bothers anything else ever.

Well, I think it depends on your filtration. Six lines and coral beauty don't get very large. I'm not a board lurker but I count five fish in your post. Anyway, if you have good filtration I think you could add a few chromis. They shoal quite nicely and encourage shy fish out of hiding.

I do everyhting I can to avoid automation. The more you automate, the more room all the equipment takes up.

Agreed Matt, but there are those of us who have a long term plan in place when the tang is put into a small tank. And thats the whole point. Call it splitting hairs, but flaming people who put one in a small tank, w/out asking what they plan to do down the road, and then calling them...

Wow, blast from the past thread! Good for you Blueasher! I have since moved my tang to my 200. NOT because of tang police pressure, but I felt the tank was stable enough to warrant the move. If a fish is doing well in a smaller tank, and the fish is small, then I see no problem with that...

The best size to start for most (not sure on hippopus) is at least 3-3.5". They are past the need for regular phyto supplementation and more (usually) acclimated to bright light. (which you have) The smaller 1-2" clams don't need as much light, but will die w/o phyto. My first was a crocea...

Agree, w/ SugarMag. I have the exact same species of zoas in the shade on the bottom, right under the MH lamps, and everywhere in between. Thats in 2 different tanks BTW. Your zoas reaction could be adjusting to the light or possible current difference. (most likely light). Keep an eye on...
