    Lobsters,shrimps,crabs,sand sifting sea stars, horseshoe crabs will all clean your "live sand" really well,of everything,except the bacteria. If that's what your calling"live sand"you have nothing to worry about.You can use any or all of them.If you have real live sand with worms and etc.you...

    Sometimes if your cutting large flat corals(fungia)the saw blade can become hot and burn tissue of the coral which is not good. The Lugo's with saltwater sounds like a good bet.

    If you have "live"sand do not use crabs,sand stirring starfish,gobies because they will eat everything that you paid good money for in your sand. Use Cucs, serpent stars,Cerith and Nassariu(sp?.)snails (lots of these).There are others that I can't remember off hand.
