  1. Any table saw recommendations?

That's better not be true or you'll be thumbless w/ a tablesaw :D Seriously, look at the Ryobi BT3x00. Probably the best "weekend warrior" table saw made. Extremely accurate cuts, sliding miter table, good dust collection, and an excellent blade. It's more than the "el-cheapo" types, but it...
  2. What Silicone

This subject usually leads to an endless discussion & results in a caution vs cost debate. You can use GE I silicone w/o any adverse effects, it's 100% silicone. It uses acedic acid (vinegar) to cure so you should let it cure throughly before using the overflow.
  3. glasscages

If you do a search on www.reefcentral.com you'll find some information about satisfied customers. The only complaint anyone had was that they use a lot of silicone, but I guess too much is better than too little!
  4. Pumps Sen700 or Mag9?

Just to be a "fly in the ointment" - also look at Ocean Runner (Aqua Medic) pumps. I have an OR 3500 & a Mag 7 - no comparison OR hands down. I'm no fan of mag pumps. - Screws that rust/corrdode - frequent cleaning - Draw a lot of current for water moved - leak if used inline - Pumps are...
  5. Ushio 175w???

Yes, I use the AB 10KK & I like it. It's very white. I can't tell it from the Ushio (at the LFS). I use the bulb in conjunction with a single 96w PC "true actinic" from CSL - give me a nice white light with a very slight blue tint.
  6. Ushio 175w???

An alternative, the AB 10K bulb (very similar) - $56 http://oceanencounter.com/Merchant2/mer ... y_Code=MHB I try not to pay over $60 for any MH bulb.
  7. What type of hang-on overflow is better

Other than the fact that it's designed to fail the CPR is a good overflow. If either the pump fails to start OR the venturi gets blocked the siphon will fail & a flood will result. Check LifeReef, with this design the siphon will not fail. A more reasonable alternative to LifeReef is Amiracle...
  8. What do I have, Anthelia or Xenia?

Nope, Anthelia has a "mat" between the stalks. It resembles a large star polyps in it's growth form. They don't really pulse they way Xenia does, it's more of a wave. It still looks real cool though :D Either of these two can reach plague proportions  The good news is that it's the...
  9. Do you have the right amount of borate in your tank? Sure?

Nope! (thanks to you I test for borate alkalinity :D )
  10. DIYers be careful

........ In keeping with the Admin's wishes I've deleted all my comments since it appears everyone is more interested in my opinion than the issue. I will close by saying - 1. I wouldn't ever condone nor encourage a patent violation 2. I would never consider RC's actions unethical

  12. DIYers be careful

Okay, okay....UNCLE! I give up on the "arm twisting part", after all I can't argue with a statement this funny  I'm still sticking with "heavy handed though"

  14. DIYers be careful

I'm guess I'm still not being clear. The deleted thread I'm talking about is the one discussing the whole issue, not the one containing the DIY advice. To be more precise the thread isn't deleted, it's locked with all the replies deleted. And hell no, I'm not about to give them a break. A break...
