Matt Are you thinking the hydroids are the white ones at the top of your photo (not the other stuff in the middle of the frame)? I ask because I think I have some of these white ones too.

why are red LED's the preferred spectrum for night scoping? As compared to blue LED's? I have been using a flashlight but it disturbs the crabs and fish when it points in their direction.

Yeah, I just got two in a small colony from Bali...Bali bonzai or something like that. One stayed and one moved into a neighboring colony.
