    From what I keep hearing the 12k ALS/Sunburst bulb is extremely dim for the wattage consumed. I have used AB (Aqualine Buschke) DE 10k bulbs and loved them. These are also available in SE and I would recommend this lamp. They look white as opposed to blue though. I have seen the 175w 14k...

    I won't be able to do this until late 2006, but a 30 gallon reef (small so I can afford to set it up properly). Sump, euroreef skimmer, probably a seaswirl, mag 3 return, RO/DI system, low light with a 150 MH or a 96w smartlite. I only know for sure that it will be a beautiful little tank :)...

    I agree that such a tank is really too small for a tang. Before I came into the army I had a 70g with a yellow tang in it. He seemed cramped in there and I took him back to the store.

    HQI double ended bulbs are the very best in my opinion. I have a 2x150 aquastarlight on a 70. Bright (!), great color, bulbs last at least a year, you can keep anything with them, fairly low power consumption. Reasonably speaking, what more could you ask for? A 150w 10k double ended HQI...
