  1. BTA won,t stay put

The RBTA is not happy. When they move, they move for a reason. For more light or more water movement or both (as others have already said). If the anemone is constantly heading for the overflow or powerheads/pump returns, it wants more water movement. Place the RBTA where you would like it and...
  2. Pumps with stainless steel?

Yeah, if any saltwater touches anything made of brass you will poison your tank. Brass is an alloy that contains copper. Copper is toxic to invertebrates and at higher levels to fish. This type of pump is based on the old QUIET ONE series by rainbow lifegaurd. They will heat up your water as...
  3. Night Light

I will try getting a pic tonight for you. I've got a tripod too. That will help get a sharp picture.
  4. Hagen Bubble Resolve Ideas /What did you come up with?

My solution was to replace the Hagen's with Maxijet's. No more bubbles, more water movement, no annoying impeller chatter at startup. Problem solved. Now I only use Hagen power heads for mixing salt.
  5. Night Light

I used Jandree22's idea of the rope lights. Works like a charm and you can put them on a dimmer if you think they are too bright. I leave mine on 24/7 as well. I used the clips that came with them to screw them into the wood in my canopy around the outside edge so my MH lamps don't melt them. I...
  6. are royal grammas jumpers?

I had a yellow headed jawfish that did jump though. He landed on the floor at the back of the tank. By the time I noticed it was too late. :(
  7. are royal grammas jumpers?

My Royal Gramma which I've had for 7 years has never attempted a jump. Mine has gone MIA for a while but he was just hiding out in a new cave.
  8. Wave maker output

Might be in the manual http://www.redseafish.com/Languages/95/PDF/134.PDF
  9. Attaching soft corals (devil's hand and large polyps)

See http://www.garf.org for super glue technique.
  10. To Probe or not to Probe?

Well the ocean is grounded right? Why not your tank?
  11. Attaching mushrooms?

I've never used it but try some bridal viel netting. Cover the mushroom with it and wrap it around the rock (don't squish the shroom too tight). Then super-glue the viel to the rock to hold it in place. In a few days or at the worst weeks, the mushroom should have planted itself and you can...
  12. RO/DI Output Need a little help!

If your RO unti came with a water tank with a air gauge connection (looks like the fitting where you put air in a tire) you can check your household water PSI. Connect the output of your prefilters (not the RO filter) to the water tank water connection (at the top) and allow the tank to fill...
  13. poll: RO before or after a water softener?

Definatly after a water softener. The softener will remove a lot of dissolved solids that can fould up the RO membrane. I don't know any reason why anyone would install RO before the softener.
  14. New wavemaker device?

"Time will tell" I meant that in terms of reliability. Usually design problems are not apparent until it has been running for many hours. A stepper motor would be a cool idea. A microcontroller could create completely random currents. It would also have the added advantage of being able to...
  15. New wavemaker device?

You can read all about it here. http://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4973 The designer (concept.ca) is a regular on this forum. He seems pretty confident in the design. TIme will tell.
