    No, they can't "self-fertilize." They can, however, wear either hat (and apparently store sperm for an extended period of time). They "get prego" when they molt - so if you have two (or more) shrimp, whenever one molts, it will most likely end up with eggs.... FWIW, Kevin

    YEah, I got Heliopora as a hitchhiker, and it took me a long time to identify it....try telling people you have a stony coralk that has polyps with 8 tentacles...they'll tell you that octocorals aren't stony (unless they're familiar with helio).
