Beast Updates Sorry I havent posted in a while, so thought I would make up for it by posting some pics of the BEAST II. These were taken as my lighting was cycling down for sundown, hence the blue. Will get some this weekend and updated under day lighting conditions.

  12. The BEAST Rebuild - 450 gallon tank / 725 gallon system

Skimmer Im using an down-draft MTC skimmer that is now quite old, but works like a champ for such a large tank. It has two 6 inch tubes that are 40 inches tall with skimmate collection cups at the top. It uses an Ikawai pump for circulation and air injection. The only problem I ever have...
  13. What is your New Years Resolution for your Tank

Tank resolutions Upgraded my reactors to larger size and now working on selecting some unique and interesting corals to grow out.
  14. Brick Brothers 300g Upgrade

It sounds like your going to break down the 220 and move everything while your setting up the new tank. I did this when I moved from my 180 to the 450 as I used my 125 for the fish, and a large rubbermaid trough for the rock and corals. Even doing that, I spent and entire weekend on the move...
  15. The BEAST Rebuild - 450 gallon tank / 725 gallon system

Most of the rock is recycled from the earlier version of this tank and its predecessors. Probably a lot from Florida and Figi as I recall. All cooked now several times and seeded with live Florida rock. I have the sump filled with rock for biological filtration in addition to the rock in the...
