Can you tell me some details about the QT process you use?

1. How long do you QT the fishes?
2. Do you treat the fishes with med for parasite?

lo; We quarantine for 7 days minimum and move the fish up to our selling tanks once they are eating and continuing to show no signs of illness. While in qt we do the following; We run a low specific gravity of 1.015 to drive off parasites, we run copper for small external parasites and a proprietary blend of meds for flukes, anchorworms, trematodes, and other large ectoparasites. Fish with bacterial infections or open sores are removed immediately and treated separately. Once in the selling tanks, the fish are fed and inspected daily, treated with copper, same proprietary blend for large parasites that are copper resistant, slightly higher salinity for better acclimation to customers tanks, ozone and UV sterilization. We are also extremely picky about who we buy from and minimize disease through select purchasing.
