55 gallon

Just set up a 55 gallon, looking to keep softies mushrooms and lps and was wondering if a 4 bulb t5 would be sufficient or should I go with a 6 or even 8? I have quite some time to decide cause I still need to wait for the tank to cycle I just filled it today let me know what you guys would choose

Oh and I don't want to do led or halide if you wanted to suggest those I've always done led and wanted to try t5s and don't want to deal with the power and heat of halides

you will be fine with 4 bulbs T5 but if you can go with 6 bulbs you're gonna get more grow rate

Alright thank..any chance you or anyone else would have a good color combo for a 4 and a 6 bulb

Go with 6 they aren't that much more then 4. But 4 will be fine. As for color combonation it is personal prefrence for the most part, I will google 4 t5 tanks and just find what you like. You can also collect a bunch of old bulbs from people. Play with the combonation then buy what you like. I am sure most people will give you there old bulbs for free.
