Not really much of a secret. I have a National model 138 compound microscope and a National model 416 stereo microscope. Of course, I do have an Olympus E-10 digital camera (it's pretty awesome!). I just put the camera on a tripod, aim it into the microscope lens and shoot. I did have to play with the zoom on the camera and use manual focus to get the images to work well.

To get the animals that I want to photograph, I start with a sample in a petri dish under the low power scope. Then I use an eyedropper to catch the critter and put it in a depression slide to get the photograph. Lots of fun! You'll have to try it!
