Can you please ID the object in the attached picture, I noticed 2 of these and I'm curious if it friend or foe.

looks like a asternia star. Some say they are good and some say they eat zoanthids. Dont let them over populate cause they can really get out of hand.

Should I move them to my sump (will they make their way back to main tank?) or just dispose of them?

Rfght now i have mostly softies,, I pulled the 2 I found

I took them out and put them in a cup, I tried to get better pics

i dont pull mine out either, never bothered anything, but yu could always get a haliquin shrimp as long as you have no other starfish in the tank

I would pull them out, they multiply fast. I had some in my tank and all they would do is damage. I found some eating zoas, purple coraline algae, and even eating the base of one of my acros. I put a harlequin in my tank and now they seem to be all gone.

yea but they only eat star fish so keep in mind when they are gone u must feed them STARFISH
