Mikey, yeah, I wasnt totally sure what it was at first, thought it was some macroalgae. I guess now its safe to say that they are corals and probably anthelia. They do spread fast, if u dont want them at all, you can try dipping the branch in freshwater say 10-15 mins. The head can be expose to air for this duration of time I think. Let me know if it works so I can try it too...lol. JK.

DJ, I forgot Kalk could have been an option. Anyway, I freshwater dipped the branch, but the anthelia was almost touching the polyp, I had to submerge the bottom part of the polyp. I did this for 10 mins or more. Now the bottom half of the polyps are sliming up, probably dying, and the sad part is that I still see some anthelias on the branches, lol. If the candycane survives, I ll try it with Kalkwasser. Thanks !

Ming u are partially right, even if its not an anthelia , it still doesnt look like a star polyp to me. If u can ID it 100%, you ll get this actual hitchhiker as a reward, lol. Thanks for your effort man.

Thank you all for your inputs. :wink1: I believe I was able to nuke them with a freshwater bath without damaging the Heads of the candycane. Lets just hope they dont come back.

You need to pee on it to nuke it, or else they'll come back and take over your tank......:sgrin::sgrin::sgrin::sgrin::sgrin:....let's hope they come back soon :bablefish:bablefish:bablefish

I highly doubt this is anthelia. Unless that candy cane head is like 8-12" in diameter.

THis is what Anthelia looks like. My stalks are about 4" long, yours look like the "ultra rare" star polyp.
