I've had this anemone for over 2 years now and I'm not positive what it is. Maybe a long tentacle? It's green with purple tips (more like purple dots on its tips).

I've had GB Maroons and now I have a Treu Percula and they both loved it but I'd rather get one that looks nicer, maybe a white or rose bulb.

Any ideas on what this is?

Any recommendations for true perculas if I decide to replace this anemone for another?

I know the general matches of what anemone is best for specific clowns but I'm curious what some of you may have and how much you like it? This is the only anemone I've ever owned but I'd like to get one that has tentacles close together so the clown can rally dig in between them.

Thanks

I have one that looks the same as that with the same purple dots on the tips. It was sold to me as a BTA that wasn't bubbling anymore, but I doubt it. It doesn't 'hang' with my other two BTAs.

if your clowns are hosting it, it isnt a condy, and if it is get rid of it, it will sting and kill and eat fish, lost 4 fish when i first started out nd took me a little bit t figure it out what was killing my fish

clowns do not usually host condylactilus, as they are from different oceans it is not a natural host. clowns CAN AND WILL host in condy's. you are safer with a condy than you are a carpet anemone which is often used as a host for clowns....

Then this can't be a condy. It had been hosting a pair of GB maroons for almost 2 years. My little true perc took to it in a week. I've never had any problems with it stinging corals or fish. I just wish I knew what it was for sure :)

This anemone had been hosting a pair of GB Maroons for almost 2 years and now my little perc. The perc took to it in only a week. If it really is a giant condy, is it really that dangerous? The condy's I've seen are usually white with a colored base. This anemone has no colored base and is green with tiny purple dots on the tips of each tentacle. When looking at its tentacles closely you can see grooves or stripes running down the entire tentacle length-wise if that helps ID it at all.

Condylactis gigantea and a really healthy looking one at that.

no.

an unhealthy or new fish may stuble into an anemone and get eaten but you can label a specific species a "fish slayer" ALL ANEMONE TRAP AND EAT FOOD. weak or ill or new or confused or small fish are more prone to this. BTA nematocyst are MORE POWERFUL than condylactilus. but its considered by many a reef safe anemone, no anemone is truly reef/fish safe.
