Anyone know what this is?

It's growing on a rock all the way in the back of my tank. It looks pretty cool... it starts as a bubble looking thing and elogates. When I first saw it, I thought it was bubble algae covered in cyano.

weird thats what i was going to say but maybe its a colony of grape colored kelp starting to grow idk its really awsome though. but looking at the grape kelp again it really isnt as branchy as this one this is nice though

Definitely not grape. The closest I could find was Scinaia complanata. But mine doesn't seem to be growing in a ball. Mine is also really red, whereas some of the Scinaia photos look more brown.

It is cool stuff! I wish I knew how to encourage it to grow.
