ID: Red Eggs-Snail?

Please help me ID these tiny round red "eggs". They are laid in a circle pattern, and overall the whole group is 1/8" across. I have no idea if there were many more of them, this is the first time I have ever noticed them. They were laid approx 1.5" off the sand bed, and are in a rear corner of the tank.

I can only assume they are some kind of snail egg, but I really have no idea.

What do you think they are?


I think this is what laid the eggs. I say this b/c I think I can see tiny red dots it its stomach and the red dots are still visible so they were not eaten by this creature.
(the white specs are pods)

I have not added anything to my tanks since the swap, so this little guy might actually be surviving.

I found more of these in my tank, but now there are dozens on just 1 section of my overflow and there are eggs everywhere.

Pretty cool! Do they bother anything in your tank? It is amazing how even after more than a decade with the same stuff I find new stuff in my tank every time I sit down and look at it for at least 20 minutes...

They are eating all the small tube worms...they will exhaust their food source quickly! This also scares me as I will be losing a large amount of filter feeding in a short period.
