Per their info on the product:
Naturaly controlled by the fish’s immune system, parasites
are present on most fish in very low levels at all times. When
stress levels increase, the ability of the immune system to
respond to its requirement to control the natural level of
parasites is directly affected. This poor response allows
parasites to increase in number, thus causing any of the
serious, above mentioned health issues in the host fish.
MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana supports the fish’s immune
system, driving off the excess parasites. Since they cannot
return to the fish during that treatment, the majority of the
parasites will starve without a host. So, although MICROBELIFT/
Herbtana does not directly kill parasites, it is
ultimately responsible for their death.

See the part I bolded...I could not find a list of ingredients for this product on the net. Generally speaking products like this have cayanne pepper in them which builds a stronger slime coat on the fish (by irritating the heck out of it, so no parasite can attach). I do not know for a fact that is what is in here, but if I was looking to treat a fish for Ich, this would not be the product I would purchase. :(

In my reading I did not see anyone mention any reaction by their corals though one fellow said he lost most of his Mexican Turbos,,, they simply fell off the glass when he added it :(

I've used Herbtana numerous times and played with the doses. As far as I can see you can't really overdose it. Corals never seem effected at any concentration and I have never seen snails or hermits even react to it's presence.

I can say that it does seem to work sometimes. We were testing it before they released it to the public and it seemed to work most of the time. We didn't use any kind of method for testing the results, but it did seem to accelerate the cycle some times, shortening the time it was visible on the fish to a day or two. As far as remedies for ich in reef tanks I would go for this first if I didn't have a U.V. (which is your best friend in a reef tank with ich). I've never seen anything good come from kick ich or rally and I personally think it works more often than when I have used garlic. Although, keep in mind if a fish is just covered in ich odds are none of this will work, but your fish doesn't have to be eating for Herbtana to do it's job. Just my .02.

I used Herbtana and for me it may have helped but I wouldn't use it again. It wasn't a 100% cure and learned that my fish are were able to fight off the ich. There's a number of posts from people who say it killed their inverts. You do have to turn off your skimmer for the entire period of treatment as the medicine is quickly skimmed out of the tank.
