i was thinking about scraping it off with a razor since they're so close to my zoos. i'm concerned about casualties from friendly fire if i use kalk paste. i mean, how tenacious are these guys?

wow, thx for the quick replies. should i drown the bugger in kalk paste or will a little go a long way?

I did it with Joe's Juice, used the syringe and feeded to it's mouth and covered the rock after it retracted. Did well at first but started to see it poping up everywhere. It went outta control and my CBB came in and ate all of it. =D

what about covering them in frag glue? I have two I need to get rid of.

Not sure if frag glue will do the trick, I tried that method they seem to find a way out, unless you dump alot of it on one spot which i'm hesitant to do.

i think i'll test this lemon juice method. doesn't sound like many have tried it, so i'll report back with results.

i read that the lemon juice has to be injected whereas the kalk paste just needs to be squeezed on and into the mouths.

anyone ever tried biological warfare? e.g. using a mushroom or something high in allelopathic potential to smother the aiptasia.

Biological warfare is usually won by creatures that eat aiptasia. I've read their sting is more potent than most anemones and corals (I personally wouldn't sacrifice coral when kalk is cheap).

I'd still go the kalk route, its almost guaranteed to get them out of the tank in a hurry. Just mix a little in a cup extra thick and use a salifert test kit syringe to kalk em. Easy as that and it works. Just leave all flow off for abour 10 mins so the kalk can "harden".

The thing i wasn't sure about with hot water, joes juice, or lime water was what if par to of them anemone ripped in the process and landed in another place or in two other places? What would you do then ;)? Just more aiptasia fun :icon16:
