ok let me start with a little history on this fish, cebu super male pylie, had this fish since tank started 4 months or so, this little guy was the boss of my tank and wouldnt allow any other wrasse's to be put in tank, well i did get a trio of mckosters but it was after he was put in timeout for a week that he stopped the non-sense, well i got a pair of flame wrasse's at the swap and i knew this mean little bugger wouldnt be going for it, so i put him in my daughters tank, ive found him 5 times in the filtration area of my ap 24g, watched him dart into the glass and shoot out as i was approaching the tank, landed right beside me and put him back in. well tonight as my son was playing xbox and went to put the controller up guess what was sitting on the tv stand ? yep my phycho pylie, he wasnt completely dried out yet, but was semi stiff and not breathing, so figure let me try something. i put him in front of the return flow and gently squeezed his lungs, after a few minutes i seen his gills start to move and a little flicker of his body, so a few more minutes pass and his breathing was picking up, little more movement to his lifeless body, so i let him go, he sank to the bottom but was still breathing, now granted my daughter and son are sitting there watching me. my daughter says daddy i didnt know you were a doctor, i thought you only fixed cars and my toys :irked:. sure enough few more minutes and he tries to swim a little, so i put him back in front of the flow again, and poof swam out of my hand and into his hiding spot which is good cause he wont be stressed, and is moving his body a little more now, well and hr has passed and he isnt dead yet, will continue this tomm if he is still alive

Ah,,,good to hear Rick, always good to make the effort of getting them into some flow.
Just a suggestion for others who may run into a semi-dried out carpet surfer during their reefing career...better to 'swoosh' the fish forward & backwards into a decent flow rather than to try and squeeze their lungs (..umm...fish don't have lungs...) to avoid any damage to their organs.

I digress...happy to hear your tale Dr. Doolittle ;)

NYReedNoob, you ever thought that maybe he didn't want to be saved? You keep messing up his efforts... LOL

Great job bringing the little guy back to life and great story, thanks for sharing...
