looking to add 50 pound of marco base rock to my tank that has been running for two year is this going to cause it to cycle again cant take any chance with the corals i have please let me know

ideally, Marco rock should be cleaned and cycled, before adding to active tank

yea, give it a vinigar bath before throwing it in

Plainly put, It will cause a cycle, and very likely cause extremely high ammonia which will wipe out your tank.

Just look for all the dead stuff on the rocks, smell the rocks and you can tell its full of dead stuff, and even try put it in a bucket of saltwater for a day with a powerhead and see the discoloration in the water and test for the high ammonia

ok how long does it take to cycle to be safe? i am going to put it in a garbage pail and let it go hoe londg will be safe i am in no rush of time is on my side for once.

Mine smelled Leave it to all the levels are good just test it

I think mine took about 3+ months, but test to double check

Mine took about 6 weeks to cycle in a garbage pail and there was no smell.
