Pets Warehouse
Pets Warehouse on Sunrise Highway is pretty big, but I have never seen a place as big as that Pet Place. Was at That Pet Place about a month ago and Pets Warehouse was as cheap or cheaper on livestock. :approve:

Pets warehouse is not bigger then that pet place in Lancaster Pa. & not as nice either. Prices are ok at Pets Warehouse. But MR vendors have better prices and much better quality corals and fish then you will get in any of these LFS in my opinion.

I did not say Pets Warehouse was bigger than That Pet Place, as far as nicer, if you like walking around Cosco or BJ's then you would like That Pet Place. And finally I was there about a month ago and the coral was no big deal and the prices were no lower than a few lfs. Add in the price of gas and tolls and tell me its a bargain. These are not my opinions, these are the facts. Pets Warehouse also offers a 20% discount on livestock and a 10% discount on dry goods for L.I.R.A members. If and when MR gets member cards the same discount would probably be offered to them. :Yikes:

I love there fish at pets warehouse, nice show sizes. Brad who works there nows his stuff, i will be giving him shortly my two big nurse sharks for his display tank. I think there fish are pretty nice, give him a shoot and tell them your from MR
If you look at the regular prices on the tanks at PW and the quality and add on a 20% discount NOBODY can come close to them not in the entire tristate area!!
But you have to be a member of LIRA/Reef Central

I have been to both. Gus told me about Pet Place in PA when I was taking my kids to Dutch WonderLand & said it was a few min away. So before heading home I decided to take kids there too. It is HUGE & doubt any place in NY could match it, I cant even imagine the OVERHEAD if you had to put something like that in LI.
unless it's Aquarium Adventure in Carle Place, that comes close since its a dedicated to everything fish. this could also be the reason why the mark up is over 300% there.
on a side note: I agree that MR vendors have great prices on just about anything related to the hobby, they also offer awsome service to MR community. but for people in LI who hate driving west to the city, because of gas, parking or whatever, LFS offer some good bargains too. the selection is mediocre since only a hand-full want to carry the Hi-End stuff. (hint) I would also have to argue on quality, unless you have been to PW lately, I wouldnt be too quick to judge, they are trying. heck, I even heard they tried to be MR vendors, but thats another story . (sorry to hi-jack)

The pictures do not represent what the place looks like today, perhaps last summer when you took the pic's.
I've seen more fish at many LFS on long Island, about the same prices.
The corals were 20% bad, the balance were priced the same as anywhere not impressed.
The saltwater fish room needs a good cleaning of salt creep and class etc.
The store where all the products are displayed was very clean, albeit on old used racks.
I walked out totally disappointed after driving there at $4 a gal, no way worth the trip. I bought some treats for my puppy.
This is high tec?

It looks like sidewalk chunks of concrete, no color may have been all base rock.

Dive deeper those are the actual pics from the actual store when I went there in June of 2007. Unfortunately until I go back again this year and see the store and take more pics and buy more stuff I can't comment on the condition of the store but from what I saw it was awesome. That was my experience.
