I use aqualifter with timer that I got from amazon.com. to control the flow I use a airline ball valve from two little fishies. So far its been doing a good job. I just had to measure the output in a measuring cup and see how many minutes I needed to run the pumps daily and I spread that around using the timer. total cost was about $50 bucks. saving money to get the litermeter or a Geo calc reactor (they cost about the same after you add a 2nd pump to litermeter).

Lazyreefer, can you post pics of your set up? This sounds like a very cost effective tool. Honestly, what you are saying is no different than the AquaMedic... the pumps should be ran over night into a measuring cup to ensure you are getting the proper doses. At a savings of $130, I'd consider this. Like you say, it's a nice start while saving money for something else, and $50 beats the hell out of manual dosing any day.
Litremeter is the best out there, although it is expensive.

So no one has heard of Reef-Filler. Looking through their manual I was pretty impressed with the setup. Unlike the aquamedic which requires check valves and such this seems well planned out.

I've heard that with a medical pump you will have problems in the long run. Medical pumps are designed to work with gravity, IE there is an IV bag hung at 7 feet high and the pump meters how much to allow through. When we start using them to lift and push it causes problem in the long term. Aquamedic claims that these are designed as dosing pumps not retrofitted medical pumps as some of the other brands are.

I'm looking for a 2 part doser. Seems my choices are:

Aquamedic
LiterMeter

Has anyone ever heard of this company?

I'm leaning towards the aquamedic because of price.

The dosing pump that you linked sucks big time. I threw mine out and replaced it with a LMIII. It cost over $60 to replace the "wethead" which easily cracks and the crap still looses syphon after a few months. Big, awkward, noisey, continous running and not really inexpensive either.
I think cali_reef has one also but uses it for a door stop.

I've tried this but didn't work for me. the measurment are off every time coz it lose syphon or keep dripping even it stop and the Aqualifter pump diy fast too...may be I'm doing something wrong. It'll be helpful if u can post a pics Thanks

Wow not exactly ringing recommendations. I think I may join Rich in the manual dosing club.
Keep in mind when you put a price tag on the selection, it makes it more difficult to focus on just one. If you were to say you don't care how much it costs, you would probably have 10 votes for the Litremeter III. If you said you were only willing to spend a couple hundred bucks... Aquamedic may have the most votes.
Isn't the most expensive always best?

>BRAIN FART<

As far as my medical doser is concerned, the tubing diameter determines how much is dosed, not the pump itself. It simply rotates according to the number input by the user.
