My uncured live rock and live sand have been in the tank for 5 days now.
Yesterday, I did a 10G water change.

How do these numbers look and what if anything should I do?

PH 7.96
Ammonia 1.0
Salinity 1.024
Alkalinity 8.0
Phosphate 0
Nitrite 1.5

Any suggestions would be helpful

looks normal enough for a new tank mabe add some buffer to the water to increase youre ph. but besides that just let it sit for a few more weeks.

Not sure that you'd want to add buffer, PH could be getting affected by the ammonia readings. You've got a couple of weeks to go before tank will stabilize and then the PH will be more accurate. Looks like your getting well into stage 2- Nitrite increase.

sounds pretty normal for the new set-up.

I would keep the ligths on for 'bout 10 hours a day. put them on a timer for the sake of ease.

I believe that yes, your algeas groing on the rock will eventualy die if the lights are kept off.

patience is the key now. I would not add anything else untill the rock is cured. (you'll know) pull out a piece and if it smells at all it's not cured yet.

Unless your first buy is a decent cleanup crew, turn off your lights. Bacteria will be fine without and coraline will survive as well. We all want to look at the pretty tank as soon as we get it but unless you have some coral on that rock that requires lighting, save yourself the hassle of massive algae growth. Why did you do a water change, the whole idea of the initial cycle is building up the bacteria which thrive on ammonia and nitrite. Doing a water change slows this down. Run your skimmer, it might speed up the cycle a little. Ran mine 24/7 , cycle was done in 2 weeks with only like 10 lbs of LR in a 55g. Right now though I have hair algae out the wazoo, I wonder where it would be if I had kept the lights off during the cycle when I didnt need them.
