what type of RO system is best for your home? is it the same type of water that you can get at the supermarket or like bottled water?? is it safe to drink or use for your water changes in your tank?? if it is... i think it might be a good investment than going to the supermarket every week and luggin around a couple of 5 gal bottles.

I have a spectrapure ro/di system, in which, I am very happy with. We use it for drinking water too, not just for my reef tank.

You can drink RO water and RO/DI water. There was a lot of talk about D/I water not having any minerals in it and how it could be harmful. Pure water is never harmful. As far as minerals go, If you eat a reasonably healthy diet you are getting all of your mineral requirements. Not to mention it is water that is hard and high in ca++ and Po4 that has a link to kidney stones. Are not going to induce Kidney stones from purified water. Get the facts from the medical profession you will find a lot of these "experts" that claim DI water is no good are most likey selling some form of water purification system that is not DI or RO and claim theirs is better etc etc. Dont know of any good Doctor that shuns drinking 100% pure H2O.

I have a hard time with the notion that DI water is not good for you as well. Anyone care to chime in and explain why they think it is bad for you? Off the top of my head; 1. It's pure..therefore no contaminents (or less than other water) and 2. People claim it's acidic...well so is coffee and lemon juice and soft drinks and orange juice and we drink them. Just wondering why there is this idea that it's bad for you.

Oh, How rude of me. I didn't address the initial question. I would second King Jason's suggestion. I have the Typhoon II.
