Well,my tank is almost done cycling so I thought I would make a list of inhabitants that I would like to have.First off my tank is 5ftx2ftx2ft with 2 175w MH and 2 110wVHO acintics for lighting.I have a 40G sump with little giant 4mdqsc return pump and 5 maxi jet 1200 in tank for movement. There is 100lbs of live gulfview rock and 20lbs of live sand on top of 5" aragamax.

With this setup I was considering:

HARD CORALS

Acropora formosa & valida (staghorn coral)
Alveopora sp. ( daisy coral)
Caulastrea furcata ( trumpet coral)
Euphyllia ancora ( anchor coral)
Euphyllia glabrescens ( torch coral)
Fungia spp. ( mushroom coral)
P. Sinuosa ( bubble coral)
Pavona spp. ( lettuce coral)

SOFT CORALS
Sarcophyton elegans ( leather coral)
Xenia
Discosoma sp.( mushroom anemone)

Clams
3 or 4 Maximas

Fish
Raccoon butterfly
Copperband butterfly
Purple tang
Clown fish
Anthias
Dwarf lion (for the wife)
Gobys
Marine Betta
Great White Shark (if I can talk the wife into a bigger tank)

Cleanup Crew
100 Asteras
20 Turbo Grazers
50 Redleg Hermits
50 Blueleg Hermits

Now that we're all gathered together, speak now or forever hold your peace. Will this list of livestock be compatable?Does anyone know of a reason why this list should not be joined in holy matramoney?
I've been going through my books day and night and what i've read says that these are all hardy and good choices for beginners.I figure I can add a new coral about every 2 to 3 weeks and about once a month for the fish and clams.

Well pound away before I refinance my house.

I've never read any books that say the Copperband Butterfly is a good fish for a beginner. Just the opposite. I've never thought of an acropora as a beginner coral either. The rest of the corals seem good to me.

I would scale back the snails and hermits also. Most of us tend to get more than we need. You tank will prune the numbers down via starvation but I would rather start on the low side and add more if I had a local source. Enjoy your new tank. It's a wonderful hobby.
