I have used it in the past. Great results with the cyano, but I lost two cleaner shrimp in the process. Only thing I lost. I would not use it again. I would exhaust all other means of ridding myself of this bacteria before using this. Unless of course you have only fish in the tank.

It's just a treatment of the symptom and not a solution to the problem.

Not sure what exactly is in that product but I will lay 10 to 1 odds it is Erythromyacin an anti-biotic. It will cause the cyano to crash, and then it will likely come back a few weeks down the road.

Slow down the nutrient import, increase skimming and the cyano will go away.

Thank you both, My LFS suggested this instead of the Queen Conch that I wanted (I guess because they didn't have one and said they were hard to get) But I wanted to check here first. I've been reading this board since the first of the year, and usually all my questions have been answered. Just never had the nerve to post before. Thank you again for your help. Grandma

I had red slime for several months, tried lots of water changes, barely fed the fish. Nothing helped. Used one dose of Chem clean, slime disapeared 4 months ago and has not returned. My cleaner shrimp and all else survived fine. Worked great.

I have used Erythromyacin at 1/10 the recommend dosage (for fish ailments) and this has cleared my cyno up with no adverse affects.
