I am looking for some nassarius snails for my DSB. I ordered some from etropicals but they don't seem to want to stay in the sand. They go all over the glass and rocks, but the kind i want stay almost exclusively in the sand bed. Has anyone ordered some of these guys lately from a MO source and receieved the kind that I'm looking for? TIA for any input.

Ray,

Thanks for the link to seacritters. I spoke with Theresa and she was very helpful and very very nice. Great customer service. I'll let everyone know how the snails are, but the initial contact was fantastic.

they may be on the glass because they are searching for food. try a small piece of shrimp on the sand bed and see if they come to life.

I'll agree Sea Critters sells the best Nasarius snails, plus they know what they are talking about.
A friend of mine bought "Nasarius" snails from a distributor out of the indo-pacific and these snails were quite a bit larger than the Caribbean species. These ones that my friend got went up on the glass a whole lot more than the ones I get from Sea Critters. I don't think that the Pacific variety is nearly as effective. The Sea Critters ones stay in the sand all the time, and only come out when they detect food.
