Hi Guys,
I have a 37 Gallon with 3-4" SB, 50+ lbs LR (mostly florida 10+ lbs Fiji)

Fish
1- True Percula
1- Scopas Tang (I will move him to a huge tank very soon, so no flamming please

)

Few new addition frags (1 stony and all softy), 1 Pacific Long Tentacle)

Current lighting, two VHO -URI Super Actinic 75W and URI Standard VHO 75 W

Although they look very shiny for this small aquarium, I am going to change the bulbs..

(No Metal Halide in here. Just VHO Ballast on a custom canopy)

I just put foil paper in the surface (between canopy and the light) to create reflection effect

Ok, please suggest which is my best choice here? I am now lacking colorful algae growth in my tank...

Choice#1
First one: 24" U.R.I Supper Actinic 75 Watt VHO
Second: 24" U.R.I Aqua Sun 75 Watt VHO

Choice#2
First one: 24" U.R.I Supper Actinic 75 Watt VHO
Second: 24" 50/50 Fluorescent Lamp 75 Watt VHO

Thanks

I use choice#2. But many find that the color is too blue. I like the deeper look. I have 4 95w VHOs over a standard 55gallon. Choice#1 will also be slightly blue but not as blue as #2.

It will be your choice on what pleases your eye more.

Can you please share what brand (and possibly the site to buy it from) with me? Perhaps send me an email.

I love to make it blue ... was not sure which one will. Thanks.

I use choice number 2 as well, and I know a lot of people says it looks too blue, but to me its a nice white color in the tank. For bulbs Id go with lampsnow.com and use the coupon code to get 20% off.

I sent you an email mtellin. Thanks for sharing. But unfortunately,

they have
24" URI Super Actinic R™ (NO)
not
24WVHO URI 24in - 75 watt Actinic White - VHO

also don't have URI 50/50 75 watt (they have coralife brand)

I guess I will go with http://premiumaquatics.com/ because of what I hear about them (despite their price is the highest compare to 4 vendor I looked at

I called them to confirm if that's URI Super Actinic or not. I haven't heard from them yet.

Thanks for sharing the info.

SPC - we were actually referring to the lampsnow website on the link I posted up above, its not a bulb or a picture of a bulb, it doesnt say URI VHO but Im 99.9% sure that it is indeed a URI bulb.

Nah, I haven't heard from either James or their Sales email.

By tomorrow, if I don't hear from them, I will buy it somewhere else. I want to be sure what I am getting, and even if that mean paying more for it.

Thanks for all the help.
