Best pump for Red Sea Hang-On Skimmer?

I've always ran my Red Sea Hang-On protien skimmer with a Mag12. Recently, I got my hands on a Sen900.

Does anyone think the Sen900 would work better than the Mag12 for driving the skimmer?

Can't really help you with you question on the Sen900 but I need to ask a question. I have A RSB H/O skimmer powered by a Mag 7 and was thinking of upgrading to a MAG9.5 Isn't the Mag 12 too much already? Why do you want to change to the Sen? sorry I couldn't help, just wondrin'

Absolutely not!!

I had a ball valve on it when I first hooked it up, but I took it off since I never used it.

The Mag12 definately runs it to the max!! Don't worry, you won't blow the top off the skimmer. The Sen900 seems to have a better rating at higher pressures, so I was wondering if it might work better.

I may swap the two out this weekend to see which seems to give a better skimmate.

Apparently, the venturi valve in the Red Sea Berlin Hang On likes as much pressure as it can get.

Thanks, that information will be put to good use, I sold my Berlin to a friend and we've been wondering what pump to put on it. I have a mag 7 running it now but am not happy with it.

Yeah, thanks for the info Ebo. one more question for ya, how much bigger of a pump is the Mag 12 compared to a Mag 7? I am kind of limited on space. Thanks
